About the Maker

Hello, I’m Nukshi.
I live in Nottinghamshire with my family, where I make leather goods slowly by hand in a small workshop at home.
My path into leatherwork began unexpectedly. When I first worked with leather on a small project for my son, following traditional methods and taking the time the material demands, I realised something deeper about the craft.
Leather is one of the oldest materials shaped by human hands. For centuries it has served many purposes - from simple protective clothing and small pouches for carrying treasured belongings, to armour and objects of fine craftsmanship.
When I stitch, I’m reminded that people have been doing the same thing for thousands of years. That quiet continuity is part of what draws me to this work. Leather carries a timeless character, and from that moment I knew I wanted to keep working with it.
I mainly work with full-grain vegetable-tanned leather, sourced from British family suppliers, shaping each piece from start to finish using traditional techniques. I also work with vintage English saddle leather, carefully repurposing these materials and giving them a new life while honouring the history they carry.
I spend a lot of time outdoors exploring with my son. We often wander through old forests, quiet tracks, and hidden places surrounded by horses and open countryside. This connection to equestrian heritage naturally finds its way into my work.
Many of my bag names are inspired by places close to my home and heart.
Each piece is made slowly, by hand, with the hope that it will be used well and last for many years to come.
